Fasting
Fasting in the Anglican Tradition with Mrs. Libby Demmon who took third prize in the Archbishop of the Anglican Church in North America's essay contest for her essay, "The Kitchen Table as a Platform for Change: Fasting in an Age of Division." In this episode we unpack fasting and explore a challenge to Anglicans everywhere concerning this sacred discipline.
Our own Elizabeth "Libby" Demmon, wife of Chaplain Mike Demmon (USA), took third prize in the lay category in the 2022 Archbishop’s Annual Summer Essay Contest. The contest is sponsored by the Anglican House Publishers and demonstrates the depth and theological prowess within the Province, of the Anglican Church in North America. Her essay, “The Kitchen Table as a Platform for Change: Fasting in an Age of Division,” is a timely read in our culture and something well worth considering in preparation for the season of Lent in 2023. We are happy to provide a link to her essay and hope you enjoy reading it as much as we did. Congratulations to all the winners and especially to Libby, one of our JAFC Women.
